For a few days, the Georgium will be your home, nestled between the vineyard and the lake. A dip in the water in the morning, the laid-back pace of the vineyard during the day, and a landscape so beautiful you’ll never tire of it. In the evening, fresh vegetables from the garden, a superb slow-food dinner and natural wine from our own production. And perhaps a glass or two for two on your own terrace afterwards.

Our cosy bedrooms are equipped with Clay plaster and wall heating Fitted out and lovingly furnished with solid wood furniture. We like to live in an authentic, stylish and architecturally sophisticated way.
Professionally restored antique farmhouse cupboards and High-quality craftsmanship in the bathrooms. Hidden details in every nook and cranny. And most importantly: the best night’s sleep, on Natural mattresses from a Carinthian manufactory.

Nestled in a region that is the historical, cultural and culinary heart of Carinthia. In summer, visitors are drawn to the lake, the mountains, golf, cycle tours along the Carinthian Lake Loop, and excursions to the Alpe-Adria region. In winter, there’s ice skating, uphill tobogganing, snowshoeing and skiing.

FAQ

The Georgium has eight cosy double rooms and can be booked exclusively for groups. The rooms can also be booked as single rooms.

Our eight double rooms can accommodate 16 overnight guests. For events that do not include overnight stays, or where accommodation is provided elsewhere, we can also cater for larger groups.

Yes. There are 12 free parking spaces available for our guests directly opposite our house.

Yes. The Georgium is situated on Lake Längsee in Central Carinthia and can be reached by car in around two to three hours from both Vienna and Graz. This makes it ideal for corporate off-sites, weekends with friends or private celebrations. We’re also very easy to reach by bus and train; the bus stop is right outside our building. (Bus route 633)

We are a 20-minute drive from Klagenfurt Airport.

Yes. Depending on the occasion, we can also host parties, wine-tasting sessions or events that do not include overnight accommodation.

We are normally open from Wednesday to Saturday. Reservations for dinner can be made until 12:00. We cook organic, very seasonal dishes and are also happy to offer purely vegetarian options. Our „farm-to-table“ concept features a multi-course menu made up of produce from small and micro-scale organic producers in the immediate vicinity. Opening hours may vary on public holidays and outside the main season.

We offer a carefully selected breakfast buffet featuring products from small-scale producers as well as organic retailers. Breakfast is served from 8.00 am to 11.00 am. For those who like to have breakfast particularly early, or for business travellers who need to be out and about early, we provide a simple self-service breakfast in our coffee and tea bar.

In your booking confirmation, as well as in a „Have a safe journey“ email sent three days before your arrival, you’ll find a link allowing you to check in online. This means that reception can issue you with the „Wörthersee Plus Card“ as soon as you arrive. Our reception and office are staffed in the mornings; from 3 pm onwards, our in-house catering team is on hand to help with any questions or requests you may have.

Unfortunately not. Opposite our house at the Längsee lido, you can hire the St. Georgen municipal sauna exclusively for groups. In St. Veit an der Glan, a 5-minute drive away, you’ll find the St. Veit sauna complex, which is attached to the indoor swimming pool.

Dogs are permitted and very welcome in the 6 rooms on the first floor. We do not allow dogs in the 2 rooms on the second floor; these are our allergy-friendly rooms.

We have private access to the lake on the other side of the Längsee; dogs are allowed here and can also take a dip in the summer.

Our guesthouse is situated directly opposite the Längsee public lido. Our guests enjoy free entry here (valid from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival until 11.00 am on the day of departure). On the day of departure, you can spend the whole day at the lido with your Wörthersee Plus Card (for stays of 3 nights or more).

We also have private access to the lake on the other side, within the nature reserve. Here, you can swim with your dog in peace, use our rowing boat, and – for example – go fishing from here after purchasing a fishing licence at St. Georgen Abbey. Please note that there are no facilities such as toilets or a wooden jetty in the nature reserve.

Yes, the Jacques Lemans Golf Club St. Veit is within walking distance of us; we’re right next door. Our guests are entitled to a discounted green fee.
